THREE STUMP FORGE
GET TO KNOW ME
My name is Lindsay Brown. I have been interested in Blacksmithing since I could walk. At the age of 13, I began studying with Paul Brunetta in Grants Pass May of 2017. I spent two months learning the basics in a propane forge, then learned to light and maintain a fire in a coal forge. Ever since I made my first square point, I knew this was the art for me. My primary interest in smithing is making tools and other pieces of functional art. . . and the occasional warhammer. For me, blacksmithing is a window into the past on a very personal level. I connect with every smith experiencing the same struggles and excitement pioneering a new craft, that I experience as I unearth an ancient art. I hope to learn the same techniques of early smiths, and how they overcame creative hurdles, when steel was still a mysterious and rare alloy.
WHAT I DO
As a blacksmith I like to make knick knacks and necessities for camp and home.
I will take custom artistry and hardware jobs.
THE MATERIALS I USE
I mostly use steel, I also work in copper and bronze.
